Because our customers have asked for it, not only do we have our complete line of beeswax candles and natural body care, we also have a line of essential oils and blends and an all natural baby care line! There is always lots of great information out there on why we should be using all natural ingredients on our body. There is a great article by David Suzuki called the Dirty Dozen, listing 12 ingredients we do not want in our skin care products. And BC Hydro recommends burning natural candles, namely beeswax and soy.

Beelites Candles, Created by Fusion and Darkhorse Farms are three brand names all handmade in BC by our small women owned business.  We manufacture all of our products by hand in our shop on an 18 acre orchard.

Our line of candles is comprised of 100% pure Canadian beeswax and GMO free soy wax. We purchase our soy wax from a local supplier in Kelowna. And we buy approximately 6000lbs of beeswax from apiaries in Burnaby and Southern Alberta.  We clean our wax in a large melting pot using a water bath system.

We start with a prototype or shape that we want to make and at our factory we handmake all of our candle molds. Our candles are unique to our business. We have our standard pillars in smooth and drip and then we have fun making shapes from forms that inspire us and are around us.

All of our candles are handpoured on the orchard, labels are printed and cut by us and all product labeled and boxed by hand.

Our soap is made from scratch using the cold press method. Again buying our key ingredients from Canadian suppliers. We manufacture both bar and liquid soap. Each batch is carefully weighed using recipes that we are confident in.  Then scented with pure essential oils and colored with natural root powders or clay.

Last but not least is a line of natural massage and  body care products. As a competitive cyclist I found the massage and body care products very interesting. We make lotion, gels and balms from scratch. Beeswax is a key ingredient in 80% of our body care products to keep the theme consistent. The beeswax is the main ingredient in making the massage gels and in all our balms.  We stay away from a lot of water based lotions to minimize the amount of preservative required in our products. Again everything is bottled and labeled by hand. Essential oil blends are used for scent as well as therapeutic purposes. We sell our products across Canada. We will be attending the Vancouver Spa show with our massage line. We are 100% Canadian, suppliers are Canadian, 100% Canadian Beeswax and manufactured by hand on our orchard in Oyama, BC.

New products are available online and at the markets! The first line of Natural Liquid soap is bottled and labeled. You can find it under the Created By Fusion header with its own page.  The next products will be an all natural shampoo & 100% castile soap that will be safe for sensitive skin and babies.

Aromatherapy beeswax melts have a new page as well, the most effective way to get the benefits of essential oils is to burn them in a ceramic melter.  A new square votive size candle in four colors can be found on the Shaped & Contemporary Candles header.  Lastly the first pieces of the chess set are complete!

Notably some of the product changes you will see are in the Devils Claw, Chi Li Cooling Lotion, Hemp Infusion Massage Lotion and the Soothe Your Souls.   In 2012 those products will be 100% natural. Using organic grapefruit seed extract and other natural ingredients that after much research I feel comfortable using. Remaining stock of these products will be on sale at gift shows and in two weeks the 100% natural line will be available.

We are happy to say that our Whipped Shea Butter, Coconut Lotion, Beeswax Lotions Bar, Lip Balm, Natural Soap, and Candles are 100% pure natural and will continue to be.  We are always striving to improve the quality and ingredients in our products all the time. It is a fun journey, sometimes overwhelming with all the information that is out there. And scary to, finding out what ingredients can slip into products that we use.

We are excited to add the natural liquid soap and will hopefully be available at the first Kelowna Farmers Market on January 21st 2012 that we will be attending. In addition a Patchouli & Lavender natural soap bar and a Verbana, Lemon & coffee soap is on the shelf drying.  I think the Verbana, Lemon & Coffee is sure to be a hit! Great for the Kitchen.

Some exciting new products will be available for 2012 including Natural Liquid Soap, Natural Shampoo and a wonderful line of Contemporary Beeswax Candles that I can’t wait to launch. Of course they will be 100% Canadian Beeswax candles with 100% natural wicks.
